H.O.G. Chapter Ride - National Cemetery Honors

Come join RCs Shawn B. & Doyle B. on this Chapter Ride to the Alabama National Cemetery to honor those that have served--a Memorial Day Ride of Remembrance.

Please plan to stage @ 6am at the Shell (Greenbriar/I565).  We'll conduct the ride brief and go KSU @ 6:20 sharp!  

The ride disance is 232 miles and we'll travel I65 to Montevello, AL for the Ceremony which starts at 9am.  

Route:  Shell station to I565.  I565 to I65 south; I65 south to Warrior for quick break.  After a break, I65 south through Birmingham to Shelby Co. Airport exit. We'll take the Airport exit to Hwy 119, where we continue south into the cemetery.

The total ride time just under 2 hours.  Ride pins will be distributed after ceremonies. Free to ride back at own pace and route for your best return trip home. For those that are interested, RCs Doyle and Shawn will lead the group to Champy’s in Alabaster for lunch and fellowship. Remaining group will then return to RHD for those that want to ride back via I65 north.

About the Event:

MEMORIAL DAY:  The 16th Annual Memorial Day Observance at the Alabama National Cemetery for 2024 is scheduled for Monday, May 27, 2024 at 9 am. The Memorial Day Ceremony, planned and executed by the Support Committee, is a time in which fallen heroes are remembered and honored in the way in which they deserve on the day set aside especially for that purpose. In keeping with our mission, we shall not forget those who paid the ultimate price for our freedom and will comfort and honor their families for their sacrifice.

Open Event: This event is open to Chapter members, National H.O.G. members and other guests as desired.  All riders and passengers must sign a release. 

Impairment Policy: The consumption and use of alcohol is a serious personal responsibility involving the safety of family, riding friends, and the individual HOG member.  Alcohol consumption before or during a motorcycling activity is not safe, responsible behavior.  Redstone Chapter #4052 requests you “think before you drink” with the above in mind and refrain from consuming any number of impairment drinks that total more than the number of wheels you are on.  Riders whose skills are observed or suspected to be impaired by alcohol or drugs before riding cannot join the ride.

Photography Policy: Photographing, filming, recording and videotaping of activities and events will be occurring Redstone Chapter events. By entering the H.O.G.® event area, you irrevocably grant permission to the Harley-Davidson Motor Company® and its agents to photograph, film, record and/or videotape you and use (and authorize the use of) your name, image, likeness, voice, and/or biographical or other information in any and all media now known or hereinafter developed in perpetuity for any and all purposes.
